Brian “Nashville” Neil Duckworth, who was a popular country singer and one of the three members of the family group Taylor Made, has died at the age of 56. He died on Monday, September 7, at his house in Clarksburg, West Virginia, as stated in the obituary provided by Bartlett Funeral Home. The reason for his death has not yet been made public.
A Voice Born on a Back Porch
Duckworth was famous for his friendly and genuine behaviour on stage and had a voice which fans claimed was like something out of their own home. The fact that his nickname was “Nashville” had nothing to do with geography; it was because he often sang and because music came to him in a natural way. “He enjoyed singing and was proud to perform with his family band, Taylor Made,” the obituary stated.
Taylor Made was set up about 15 years ago together with his siblings, his brother Greg Duckworth and his sister Wendy Williams. When giving an interview in 2013, Brian referred to the group as ‘three kids from the back porch’ who were just excited about each step they took. This humble and family-oriented attitude became a defining feature of their career.

For many years Taylor Made performed on stage alongside well-known country artists such as Dierks Bentley, Charlie Daniels and Miranda Lambert. In 2012 their song ‘Things You Don’t Grow Out Of’ reached No. 36 on the Billboard Indicator chart, and the band was subsequently awarded Independent Artist of the Year by MusicRow Magazine—an honour which highlighted their strong grassroots appeal and the consistent support of their fans.
Although music was his passion, Duckworth also worked in the field outside of the music industry. He drove dump trucks for Wolfe’s Excavating and was known among his colleagues as the “Truck Boss”. The obituary stated that he “truly enjoyed” the job since it kept him outdoors—something appropriate for a man who, according to his family, was happiest when surrounded by nature.

Brianna Duckworth Kazner, Duckworth’s niece, posted on Facebook on September 9 a wedding video from 2025 in which Taylor Made performed and stated that it was “the last time Taylor Made sang together.”
She said that ever since she was a child she had been watching her father, her aunt Wendy, and her uncle Brian give performances at fairs and festivals, until eventually she was old enough to take part in a few of them herself. Having grown older and begun to write her own music, she knew exactly whom to telephone when she got creatively ‘stuck’; indeed, Uncle Brian had such a talent for writing song lyrics that she was certain he could get her out of any songwriter’s block.
She remembered the late-night singing, the phone calls filled with jokes, and the pride he showed in family occasions—such as wearing her “Go Duck” T-shirt at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. “Just last week he phoned me about a song idea he had. Guess I’d better get on with that,” she said. “Uncle ‘Bert’, although I can’t keep track of all the times we got together to sing, it will have been never enough.”
Remembering a Life Built on Music, Family and the Outdoors
Duckworth is survived by his wife, Tina Scheuvront Duckworth, whom he has been married to for over 15 years, six children, four grandchildren and five siblings. The obituary stated that “above all, Brian valued his family and the special memories they had made together” and that he “loved very much his faithful fur family, who were always there as companions.”
The family stated that Brian’s love of family, music, and the outdoors will always stay in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him.
